Welcome - Please read forum purpose and rules here.
Hello and welcome to our first on-line Parkview forum. The forums that follow are initiated primarily for Parents of students in the Ankeny Community School District, and specifically for Parents of students attending Parkview Middle School. The purpose of these forums is to provide a forum for parents to talk with parents, with the occasional distraction of the Parkview principal occasionally entering into the conversation.
As with any community forum, we have a few guidelines. First, these forums do not permit using individual teacher names or students names, or in any identifying way describing individual teachers or students. Second, these forums will not permit the use of profanity or obscenity.
Finally, these forums are open for parents and the adult conversations we have around the topics at hand. Therefore, students, unless otherwise specifically noted in the forum topic, are not permitted to join. Sometimes, adults just need to be able to talk to each other :0) - 0 Topics

The Spring of 2008 is all about transitions!
This time of year, many of our 5th grade students are thinking about making that awesome transition to Parkview. Parents too have the move to Parkview on their mind. At the same time, over 600 students in 6th grade are preparing to move into 7th grade. Our 6th grade students tend to be less concerned for that transition as they have long ago since mastered the magic of Parkview and stand ready to assist their to-be 6th grade fellow student’s ease into a gentle start for next year. Then, our current 7th grade students are ready to make their way to Northview Middle School. Eager for the opportunities and challenges Northview thoughtfully structures for these students, our 7th graders are ready to engage in a wonderful 8th and 9th grade experience. Their parents, however, may feel some anticipation as they know that their young adolescent continues to grow, mature, and navigate their way ever-so-close to the magic of Ankeny High School.

Let’s talk. Use the convenience of your own computer at a time and place that fits your busy schedule. You do not have to practice competitive parking to get to our school just to sit in a folding chair to listen to the Parkview principal present, hoping for the opportunity to grab a few precious moments talking with other parents. Not now. Not here. This forum is structured for parents to talk with each other.
